Delores shows off her work on the painting depicting the landing on Normandy Beach, June 6, 1944, better known as D-Day.
This is the very same Delores who spoke with me three years ago in 2010, reminiscing about our common experience. When Donna sent me these new photos and told me this woman is named Delores, I couldn’t help but think she’s the same person. Sure enough, after checking with her granddaughter Melissa, I’ve confirmed her identity. I continue to marvel at the power of the internet to brings such things together.
Here’s Delores again with the famous image of Washington crossing the Delaware.
Donna and Gwen work side by side to fill in the paintings with royal icing.
