The Longs found a lovely house for rent in San Miguel, but it needed some work done to make it habitable. They hired an architect, Abelardo, to design and oversee the remodeling effort. Abelardo often brought his young son Abelardito to work with him, and the families soon became friends. While the work proceeded, Robert Long made this charming portrait of young Abelardito.
