The lady is Josefa, a singer in a San Miguel restaurant. Her guitar accompanist is Apolinar, or “Poli.” Long loved their faces and had to do these two portraits, which hang side by side here at Cactus Hill. Officially, the paintings are named “Hombre con Coca” and “La Mantilla Roja.”
